Abhorrent. I've never been on the Spielberg hate bandwagon. In general, I kind of like him. But this... I have so much to say about this... but the thing is, I don't want to say it. I don't want to waste my breath. I may write a mega-review sometime if I feel up to it. But for now, I'll leave you with this:
There is barely anything in this that distinguishes it from The Emoji Movie.
Yesterday evening, I watched this film for the third time, and for the first time on BluRay. Despite already considering it as my second favorite film in general, I couldn't help but find myself even more sucked into it than before. I caught up on a number of Pasolini films this year that I hadn't seen previously and upon this viewing of Salò, I noticed so much more intertextual links to Pasolini's overall body of work and political ideology.
