This felt like a movie that was made to fit into a franchise or set up future events for that franchise. Not that it has to be about the eponymous character, but I’m sick of feeling like I need to make study notes on the previous 20+ entries and brush up on my mcu knowledge just to watch.
Also, the anxious naive Peter worked endearingly in Homecoming, Civil War, and Infinity War, but I feel like you can only “save the world” so many times before growing a bit as a character. In his next (inevitable) half dozen mcu appearances, I’m hoping he evolves into a more quippy version of the character that suits him so well as we’ve traditionally seen.
