To cap off my 2020, I’m doing one final animation challenge!! And it’s holiday-related babyyyy!! ICYMI (and if u care 😆) I marathoned every Pixar, Blue Sky, Studio Ghibli, Laika, and Scooby-Doo movie throughout the year, and I’m here for one more; Rankin/Bass. The least-known and most-niche of the animated subjects I’ve enjoyed this year, Rankin/Bass is a now defunct studio known for their seasonal TV specials. Arthur Rankin Jr. and Jules Bass dreamed this thing up, and along with it a world of doll-ish stop-motion and perennial snowfall. They’re an interesting studio because there’s a huge disparity between their movies. You got the top 3 well-known classics in Rudolph, Frosty, and Santa Claus is Comin to Town, but the next most popular has <1,000 watches on here. Nonetheless, I like animation, doing movie challenges, and being a completionist so here we are. At least this is a less gruelling one compratively. 

I’m being strict by setting the guidelines to the 19 Christmas-only ones they produced, plus 1 (Frosty Returns) because it’s included on the Christmas Classics disc. The company has made a bunch of others that are non-Christmassy, part of franchises they co-produced, or consist of rights they gave away to other studios, etc. My LB friend Wyatt is doing the same challenge this year but a much more comprehensive one including everything Rankin/Bass related, so I encourage you to check his reviews/list out!

Not doing stats...most of these are shorts so I won’t be rating them cuz I don’t like rating shorts, but I’m ranking them all here so use your imagination for how much I liked each one.
