Jeffrey Cheng Stewart’s review published on Letterboxd:
Biggest problem that I believe many people had with this one is the 'stunt' casting of Angelina Joulie and her husband Brad Pitt. If it had been a different pairing I think audiences would've been less distracted by wondering just how much this is all drawn on their marriage in real life. Yes, the dialogue is overwrought "My outsides match my insides", pacing is intentionally languid but too repetitive at times and some shots are more magazine spread than cinematic. Nonetheless, Joulie's depiction of a far beyond broken relationship hits some interesting points with two married people dealing with deep depression and loss.
