    Godzilla vs. Kong

    ★★★

What a bunch of crazy, unhinged nonsense. I loved it. There was a lot more Hollow Earth here than I was expecting, but that aspect wasn’t even the 12th craziest thing about this movie. It’s like someone started out with a ‘80s Godzilla movie switched it to Thor: Ragnarok and then switched it again to Akira.

    Nightcrawler

    ★★★★½

As of November 2nd, 2014, Jake Gyllenhaal has put on the best performance I've seen all year.

Yes, Jake Gyllenhaal's performance beats the likes of Joaquin Phoenix in Her, Ralph Fiennes in Grand Budapest Hotel, Scarlett Johannson in Under the Skin, Joaquin Phoenix in The Immigrant, Jake Gyllenhaal in Enemy, and Jake Gyllenhaal in Enemy. With Foxcatcher and Birdman about to hit my area soon, this might change very soon, but so far Jake Gyllenhaal in Nightcrawler is FAR and…
