James McGann’s review published on Letterboxd:
Friedkin fans, don’t sleep on this masterpiece like I did. Four men whose decisions have forced them into hiding converge in a small South American town, from which they embark on a borderline-suicidal journey through the jungle by cargo truck. Sorcerer sets the new standard for the words “gritty” and “tense” for me. You can feel the sweat and grime in every frame. We’ll never see set pieces like these again (fortunately, for the safety of everyone who works on set), but my god, this is visionary, technically stunning suspense filmmaking.
