A Quiet Place

A Quiet Place ★★★★½

With the horror genre becoming more generic and cliché every year, a film like this gives me hope that there is more to this genre than it seems.

A Quiet Place completely reinvents the horror genre. Not just through the way it uses silence to build tension, but also in the way it infuses a story about family and sacrifice into a backdrop of terror and tension. This possibly the most emotional horror film made.

John Kransinki and Emily Blunt are incredible in this film (and in real life) and the kids cast in this film are truly special. The ending is absolutely perfect and left me with chills as I left the theater.

As someone who isn't a big fan of monster movies, this film is a wonder.
