Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Star Wars: The Last Jedi ★★★½

"Everything you said in that sentence was wrong."

A very ballsy Star Wars film that packs some of the most inspiring moments of the entire franchise. While a second viewing is imperative for the appreciation and full understanding of The Last Jedi, I can still say for me it had the highest highs and the lowest lows of the new franchise. While some moments in the film are Star Wars at its finest when it comes to cinematography, space action, acting, directing, and fight sequences. Some other parts of the film seem out of place and too extravagant even for a Star Wars film. Still, This film is what a lot of people wanted, a different unique film that does not retread old material that surprises in unexpected ways. I applaud Johnson for all the risks he took, because without all the parts I wasn't crazy about I wouldn't have the parts that blew my mind. It leaves the franchise in a very exciting place and I'm compelled to see where it goes next.
