Joachim Jelle’s review published on Letterboxd:
The Stephen Sondheim and Anthony Perkins estates must be reveling in royalties with Rian Johnson shadow-remaking The Last of Sheila and getting paid $100 million to do so.
Joking aside, the follow-up to Johnson's smash hit Knives Out is ripe with social commentary — so much that it overshadows the characters and their interactions. It never reaches the humorous heights of the first. Packing this much star power into one movie should amount to more uproarious laughter, but it doesn't. And the mystery, although striving for more subversion, can't really replicate the lightning-in-a-bottle feel of the first one.
That said, I could easily watch a Knives Out Mystery every second year. Craig's a gem.
