Jennifer’s review published on Letterboxd:
Happy to say I liked this much more on rewatch (though I still think the casino planet subplot is pretty pointless and the humor is too childish for me).
Was really struck with the grave consequences of actions here. People, the heroes of our story in fact, make mistakes and as a result others die. Luke, Poe, Finn, and Rose all attempt to do the right thing, but inadvertently set their own cause back and many of their allies are killed in the process. And they have to live with that (though it would have been good to see the rest of them grapple with their failings and mourn a bit more as Luke does) and hopefully learn from it. But they still have to keep going and fighting. And ultimately it comes down to everyone (Rey for Kylo/Ben, Luke for Leia, Rose for Finn, Finn for Rey, and Holdo and Rose's sister for the Resistance) trying to protect one another to make it all worth it.
And Rey's journey on this and interactions with both Luke and Kylo/Ben were pretty cool too!
