Eternal Family Guy of the Spotless Mind
I think this is my first time walking out of a movie. After an hour, it became clear that this was sub-Rick and Morty faux Kaufman twee Spiderverse fan fiction of the worst variety. I hated it from the first five minutes. I should have known; I turned off Swiss Army Man after an hour too. Everyone said don’t watch the trailers, but I think if I had I would have known it wasn’t for me. I can take boredom, but even defenders of this film have to admit it’s pretty aggressive in its approach, and this is aggressively twee, aggressively paced, aggressively “random LOL,” and most of all aggressively secondhand. I feel waves of relief stepping out of the theater into the sunlight. God bless you all. I will not be watching another film by The Daniels.
At The Oriental in Milwaukee, wasting precious hours of vacation.
