Watching this off the coattails of Saltburn is interesting and I thought about it the entire film. You might consider Oliver as the anti-Maurice, as the class-flip counter to the bourgeois romantics. An angry re-assessment of Austenian ideals of private liberation. I wanted to go list off parallels and probable direct references, but maybe I'll save that for a rewatch of Saltburn some time.

Gorgeous, simple, expressionistic catharsis, aching to pull at your existential fears and replace them with some semblance of purpose. There is a balancing act taking place both in content and themes between the film and the filmmaker: pretentiousness and humanity, desire and instinct, art and survival, urban and rural.
