With all the good movies I see, I feel reborn.
Hypocrisy at its best!
The incredible chemistry between Volonte and Bolkan takes this movie whole another level, and yet, thankfully we are not exposed to them too much which increases their effect.
Ennio Morricone's music can sound a little funny at first; however, it successfully suits the idea of the film with its ironic and tense style.
One of the best movies I've watched this year. An absolute masterpiece by Elio Petri.
The relationship between masses and commodities is something Antonioni is obsessed with, I guess. The guitar in Blow-Up, the writer in La Notte, the stocks in L'eclisse, and here the girl everyone chasing. There is sheer chaos as everyone focussing on those things, and afterwards, it is the peace people reach when those things fade away. Every time Antonioni does this, I cannot help myself but be impressed.
For a couple of months, I haven't been able to watch movies…
