First off, this was 1000% worth the wait! 7 years for another staggering cinematic achievement from Toho!
Everything about this film done with so much intention and care, starting off by setting the 1945. Placing this at the literal end of the war into the immediate aftermath of it, you see people dealing with immense guilt and grief but also trying so hard to rebuild which makes the destruction that much more devastating.
