J.G. Edwards’s review published on Letterboxd:
This really only has two things going for it: Sherilyn Fenn's scene (she accomplishes so much in such a short amount of screen time) and Willem Dafoe (his face in those pantyhose holy shit). Aside from that and a couple of other small moments, this falls really flat for me. I'm going to pretend this is so mediocre because Lynch was more focused on season one of Twin Peaks at the time.
(Sidenote: I have a theory that Jack Nance is playing the same character in every single Lynch project he's in.)
