EPISODES 1 & 2:
Huge props to Deborah Chow for nailing down a tone and having the show already in stride. I’m loving her direction style so far. McGregor didn’t need to prove he could carry the show but he has anyways. The situation driving the plot surrounds a character that wasn’t even on my radar coming into the show. Multiverse of Madness is tonally unbalanced and not perfect by any means, trying to cram a lot into its runtime.
HOWEVER, you simply cannot deny how hard this movie unapologetically goes for it.
Feige, Raimi and Waldron deliver some of the craziest moments we’ve ever seen in the MCU. Including one that made me scream maybe a bit too loud (sorry Peyton)
The majority of it worked for me, though some story issues can’t be ignored. I did absolutely eat up the filmmaking style. The wild camera angles, editing and of course Elfman’s score were fantastic.
I’m closing, Wanda can tuck me into bed ahaha 😏
