Jacob Wilson’s review published on Letterboxd:
The visuals - amazing. The scenes were simultaneously beautiful, haunting, and terrifying. I felt it told the story of the Dunkirk very well.
I felt the character stories were lacking though. I didn't learn anything about the characters or where they came from, and I didn't grow any sense of care for them. It felt like their stories were only half committed to, and this was the one weak spot of the film.
Still a great film, it just didn't push any boundaries in terms of story telling.
