Margot Kidder calls her mom a "gold-plated whore," gets a child drunk, and is generally beautiful, profane, and awesome. All time crush.

Time for our now annual family holiday tradition where I watch this with my daughter and we flip off the television and boo heartily when Donald Trump appears on-screen.

Black Christmas 2006
One could make the case that one of the best things about the original Black Christmas is that we never learn ANYTHING about the killer. It makes things so random and scary.
They decide to go in the exact opposite direction in this reboot and we learn a little too much about Billy Lentz and his gross family for my liking.
That said this movie is still fun, extremely gruesome, and super DUPER into doing awful things to eyeballs.

Black Christmas 1974
Sick today so why not use the downtime to launch into a month of seasonal horror?
Starting out with the G.O.A.T. for that particular subgenre and it remains glorious.
The garbled psycho speak of the killer is genuinely creepy, John Saxon is the only cop I'd ever trust (besides Robocop), and Margot Kidder remains a damn treasure.

My Bloody Valentine 1981
Why this became a terrific one-off slasher while far inferior ones got franchised remains a disappointing mystery.
