The Florida Project

The Florida Project ★★★★★

90/100

Innocence in the face of unrelenting tragedy. Adolescence is such a magical place in time and it's captured perhaps no better than in Baker's wonderfully hopeless tale, The Florida Project. William Dafoe and Bria Vinaite produce Oscar nomination worthy supporting performances and those of the young children are inarguably the best childhood performances I've ever seen from an ensemble, especially of this age group. The Academy has been neglectful in the past, but I sure as hell hope to see an Oscar nomination in here for Brooklynn Prince in the lead role. She is outstanding, as are the fellow young actors and actresses. The Florida Project is worthy of a number of accomadations, the script especially, but none moreso than 2017's best ensemble cast thus far. One of the very best films of 2017.
