Fun rom com! I think I was too stupid to parse the period dialogue in straightforward adaptations, so now I actually understand the plot of pride & prejudice, kind of! Great performances from folks who I'm hoping to see more of, esp the two main leads. Extremely strong, believable chemistry between the entire main group of friends.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. 2015
Put this one off for ages, but it is definitely one of the best Guy Ritchie films in recent memory. Slick, fun, a bit campy. A perfect, easy watch.

Minari 2020
Absolutely incredible. It follows a very gentle arc and doesn't have any massive, manipulative melodramatic moments, but it packs the biggest emotional weight of anything I've seen in such a long time. It feels like such a real and honest story. And it was fantastic to see a totally fresh story of immigration on screen. A uniquely American story. Everyone in the cast was incredible, I honestly can't pick and choose. I hope to see them all in many more things.

Drive My Car 2021
Put off this review for a week because I can't really do it justice; this movie was outstanding. A great, meditative piece about loss, grief, identity, language... So many little pieces that create this poetic narrative. It's a movie that sneaks up on you. Absolutely gorgeous, fantastic performances. It reveals information at a very deliberate pace and never feels emotionally manipulative. I can't say enough good things about it.
