    Definitely interesting. Inspiring to see that this is a movie: some people just came together and made something that is technically very well done for very little money. And there’s a bit about the mechanics of fitting a bunch of people into a mini van that was definitely relatable: Seligman has a great ear for universal mundanity. Not great in itself, but definitely feels like the first submission of a unique and important filmmaker.

    Abide and endure… love that. Mitchum is superb as the psychopathic villain. Was thinking Anton Chigurh here, perhaps even some Daniel Plainview in his ultimate pursuit of money that leads him to adopting H.W. for appearances, like Powell getting married just to get some money.

    It’s important to make movies like this that reject the status quo and support independent cinema, but there’s not a lot to unpack here. Outstanding performances with an unreliable narrative (which probably bumps up the score on here from people who assume it’s genius if they don’t totally get it) that makes it interesting to watch. The sound was great as was the directing, but it doesn’t completely do it for me.
