Barber Westchester isn't happy. So Barber falls in love with space. In space, they can escape the planes that make them think that their day of retribution has come, that the mysterious figure that terrorizes her family into becoming cult fanatics, that probably isn't real but controls nearly every aspect to their life that it's hard to imagine life without it.

Barber Westchester loves space. They love space so much that they get an internship to NASA, and they finally…

I love movies I fucking love movies this is like a perfect movie for me its a courtroom drama but it really doesn't matter who committed the crime the important thing is that this is a family and these are people who love and care about each other and are flawed and hate each other sometimes and have regrets and make mistakes and aren't good enough to be perfect and aren't perfect enough to be good all the time and…

Much of Filipino cinema (in my limited experience) deals with characters who are trapped. That's not to say this isn't uncommon for other countries, but in Hollywood characters get trapped in order to escape in heroic fashion, while characters in Brocka, etc. films truly have no way out. Phillip Salvador sucks as a person, but as an actor he is the perfect embodiment of a hard working man who is trapped by his desire for a better life and the…

Wrote a bad review for this and then deleted it because it's really hard for me to articulate how successful this movie is at portraying a specific coming of age story that's easy to relate to while uncovering and dissecting a very unique mode of oppression. It's a fantastic film that portrays life instead of leaning into plot, and the conflict is built from this group of guys simply living and wanting to play music. It's beautiful and heartbreaking, and…

    Important events deserve better movies.

I thought it was weird that it was an Amazon Prime film at the beginning, but as the film went on, it made complete sense. This is a safe, easy, unpolitical movie for an extremely important moment in Argentina's political history. It reduces the political struggle to a black and white narrative where the good guys were able to just do their job and defeat the bad guys.

There are no stakes. The death threats…

There's no love in this movie.

Hae Sung doesn't have love. He's just hung up on a girl he held hands with when he was twelve. He somehow hasn't been able to move on for twenty years, which is kind of pathetic. I guess they might have reconnected in their twenties, but a Skype montage with boring dialogue mostly drowned out by the score doesn't do anything to convince me that he's in love. Maybe a childish infatuation. Not love.…
