funny how this movie made me Repulsed by men but not as Repulsed as i was knowing i spent my monday willingly watching a polanski film
According to my friend, russians fucking adore hc. andersen, which may be why I have them to thank for adapting one of his best (!) fairy-tales so truthfully.
it really is a shame that the disney version is all most people are familiar with when the original is so beautiful, melancholic, and most of all Sad. a naive mermaid falls in love with a prince, sacrifices everything to win his love, the wet blanket never realises, she still does everything…
this was without a doubt the most hilarious movie experience of my entire life because i sat in this movie theatre with 6 other people, all flying solo, sitting at least 10 seats and 4 rows apart, all respecting the fact that we were uni students dedicating our thursday night to seeing a montage of 7 kpop idols doing their thing while we quietly sat munching on our popcorn without making a sound for every single fucking scene in the movie
until fucking yeontan appeared and we all collectively burst into the loudest sound of cooing i have ever heard.
