    The perfect movie to throw on while I built some legos and put away the dishes. Felt refreshing to see a smaller scale Transformers movie. I was able to digest this much easier than the Bay films. Genuinely feels straight out of the 80s which is either cool or cringe depending on your tastes. I’m the latter. Fun time!

    The fights were forgettable as hell though.

    A lot to unpack. This definitely feels like the type of movie that would benefit from a rewatch, so I plan on revisiting this in the near future. Picked up a lot of commentary on toxic masculinity. The detectives are a bunch of helpless dudes who are more concerned with finding answers for their own vanity rather than bringing justice to the victims of the crimes they’re investigating. Violence only brings more violence, never a resolution.

    Watched in 70mm at the Regency Village Theater in LA which was awesome. They even had a pop-up pinball arcade next door which was super cool as well. Definitely a great movie going experience!
