The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run

    ★★★

Sponge on the Run attempts to recapture the magic of the 2004 hit film and somewhat hits and misses. Sure, it’s adorable and sincere and often times hilarious but at times the writing is inconsistent. The animation is interesting and often works and often times doesn’t. Keanu and Snoop Dogg are highlights but don’t save this film. It’s a shame that they didn’t end this franchise after the creators passing

  • The Hunt

    The Hunt

    ★★★

I really wanted to love this and the hype for this movie was through the roof but unfortunately my expectations were not met for The Hunt. Sure, Mads Mikkelsen brings the best performance of his career and the cinematography is great. But the overall story and the pacing were all nothing special and felt dragged out a bit.

Maybe will love it on rewatch

  • Halloweentown High

    Halloweentown High

    ★★★

Halloweentown High is kind of a strange mash up of a goosebumps episode and a DCOM. The production design and make up is surprisingly great, they look genuinely scary and interesting looking. The acting is corny and hokey but fun. The writing is insane, I was kind of intrigued on what was happening next but still has many DCOM cliches. The VFX are really bad, at times laughable.

This feels like a film in a series and I feel if you want the others, the lore would make sense but it still easy for newcomers to follow.

  • Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace

    ★★★

Phantom Menace is often known as one of the few disasters in Hollywood. While I do understand the hate, I don’t think some of it is warranted. Yes Jar Jar is a mixed character but he is there to hold the hand of the audience; this is a mature Star Wars film. With themes of political espionage mixed and hierarchy, I can understand why many don’t like this. This is basically what a Star Wars film should be, new places…

  • Fighting with My Family

    Fighting with My Family

    ★★★

A cute and uplifting feel good movie with good performances, but unfortunately suffers from a weak script that touches familiar themes and a soundtrack that feels familiar also

  • Chopping Mall

    Chopping Mall

    ★★★

Chopping Mall is exactly what the title suggests. It's a fun and campy and wild ride, and I was all here for it. They really didn't take anything serious in this and I'm glad due to the story. The story was solid and the acting was fine but when it was bad it was a blast. The horror and kills are satisfying and a lot of fun. A very underrated film in the genre that should get more appreciation

  • Piranha 3D

    Piranha 3D

    ★★★

Piranha 3D knows exactly what it is, and doesn't let up. This was a fun time. Sure the acting is bad and is basically douchey but you can't help from having fun. The gore is so wild that it adds to the comedy. The bad acting is so funny. The visuals are insanity. It's all around a fun movie to be honest

  • Buffalo '66

    Buffalo '66

    ★★★

Buffalo '66 improves drastically after its opening minutes. Vincent Gallo gives a raw and sometimes really disturbing performance and at times it kind of veeres his portrayal of real life. The style is present here and is somewhat competent. The editing choices made give us context on this character but some are just downright obnoxious. The other performances are great and feel more like side characters due to Gallo owning the show.

  • A Scanner Darkly

    A Scanner Darkly

    ★★★

A Scanner Darkly is a very ambitious film by the last person I'd think to direct this film. Richard Linklater does a fine job adapting the source material. The animation is trippy and artistically cool. The performances except, for Woody Harrelson, are career best especially Keanu Reeves and Robert Downey, Jr. The story is very original and unique, but, once it hatches an idea it all gets lost and I feel like is forgotten about until the very end which…

  • Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed

    Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed

    ★★★

The Aliens of the series, even better than the first

  • Scooby-Doo

    Scooby-Doo

    ★★★

Look I know many people think this is bad but to be honest with you I sorta enjoyed myself watching this. Yes the CGI doesn't hold up and the acting is over the top but the casting is spot on and if it strives out to recreate an episode of the original show, it does a pretty great job

  • The Pursuit of Happyness

    The Pursuit of Happyness

    ★★★

Your run of the mill feel good drama with good performances at its core
