Cries and Whispers filled me with such uneasiness and dread, a feeling that began with each chime in the opening credits and continued to the final card at the very end. It surrounded my head with heightened sounds— the white noise, the ticking of a clock, the uneasy breaths. Even mere silence felt extremely heavy, and Ingmar Bergman doesn’t offer any sort of relief to lift the oppressive air clouding over every single shot.
I think I loved it?
