This was a solidly entertaining "over the course of one night" movie. I cant help but compare it to Miracle Mile because of how recently I watched it, and I found the surreal nature of this film wasn't quite as entertaining as Miracle Mile's intensity. The dreamlike nature of this film succeeded in creating a constant sense of escalating weirdness and dread, and the way each character was introduced and reintroduced helped add a sense of purgatory to the whole thing.
I did feel that, even at its fairly short 97 minute runtime it did drag a little for me, but Griffin Dunne's performance helped to carry it along throughout. Certain character interactions were hit and miss, but overall the way they all connected in the end made up for any individual shortcomings.
