John Thompson’s review published on Letterboxd:
Very enjoyable. It’s very hard to tell a story without any dialogue, let alone one like this that is complex, rich with themes, and would genuinely be loved by science fiction fans.
Though I commend the story, it’s the only reason this gets 4 stars. The animation and music are 5 star worthy, of course, but the story took logical leaps and had just too much suspension of disbelief. Regardless, we’re here for the music. Daft Punk fan or not, you should check this out. It’s pretty enjoyable, and one of the few films I’ve seen that worked with its cliche ending.
