Old answers the question 'What if M Night Shyamalan took the bare bones concept of Cabin in the Woods and made it boring'. A group of archetypes vacationing in a remote location are summarily dispatched while being observed by a group working for a higher purpose, who have their work spoiled by a pair of survivors.

Unlike Cabin in the Woods, Old doesn't bother giving our cast a personality. What they get are sicknesses and marital issues to take the…

I'm a sucker for shark movies, so just because I liked this one doesn't necessarily mean it's good. It's pretty mediocre, to be sure.

If you've seen enough horror movies, you'll probably see where this one is going very quickly. No surprises here, from the survivors to the order of victims, it's well telegraphed. The shark looks better than your run of the mill syfy movie but isn't seamless and shots of the cgi version interspersed with footage of real sharks are more awkward than impressive.

Unless your a fan of killer shark flicks, you can miss this one.

Many viewers believed the events to be true and they jammed the network phone lines for hours. Aiding the realism of the movie was the fact that much of the cast were actual, well respected newscasters.

Ghostwatch sends a team of reporters to investigate a supposedly…

    Halloween Horror Tales

    ★★

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Halloween Horror Tales is trying really hard to be a better Anthology. I see the DNA of several of them weaved throughout the stories in this portmanteau. Tales from the Crypt, Twilight Zone, Creepshow...all three are brought to mind as these stories are shared with us by a raven-haired woman we meet alongside the road of a small town.

This small town is where each of these four tales of varied quality occur. In the first, an escaped psychotic dons…
