Hmmm, a fun idea but a little underwhelming. Worth watching if you especially love supernatural thrillers or Steohen King films. Samuel L Jackson's character was excellent though.

"We can't keep up with these young girls anymore" marvels one of the older men trying to arrange a marriage, and finding the young girl out-drinking him.

Falling in the late autumn of Ozu's career, its very interesting to see Japan modernising and moving into the 60s, a decade later to be represented by mini-skirts and the pill, from the decades of traditional dress and family structures depicted in his previous films.

It really captures the daughter's hesitance…

Quirky, interesting portrait of rural Mississippi in the 1930s, seen through the adventures of three fleeing jailbirds.

Rewatched at Michael's suggestion. The humour worked with me better this time. Clooney was especially funny with his facial expressions.

Lastly the casting director did a great job in finding a countless number of interesting-looking oddballs to fill the background roles.

Such an excellent, darkly-funny film. Perfectly written and acted. Fantastic.

My only criticism is that I wish it was called Two Men In Bruges so it had a numbered title like Martin McDonagh's others: Six Shooter, Seven Psychopaths and Three Billboards.
