First time rewatching this since opening night, and yep... it still slaps. Big time. This is the best Star Wars movie since "Empire" (perhaps even better?)... and it's not even close. I genuinely feel sorry for those that don't enjoy or appreciate this film.
The risks, payoffs, action, twists, music, visuals, humor, characters, conflict, purpose, and performances... it's all absolutely brilliant. Rian Johnson somehow created a wholly unique and challenging experience within the confines of a well-controlled blockbuster apparatus - and the result is a delightful and even insightful, unpredictable thrill ride. Remarkable.
