Pariah ★★★★½

"I am not running, I'm choosing."

Pariah tells the story of young Alike, who is embracing her sexuality, all while dealing with the usual troubles of adolescence, her parents, and school. The film dives head first into difficulty and pain, but it is such a rewarding and touching picture by the end. Through the film, you are just dying for something good to happen for Alike and when it finally does, the smile on your face will be uncontrollably huge. "To break, is to gain freedom. To be broken, is to be free. I am not broken, I am free."

Also, fuck mom.
