Jordan Smith’s review published on Letterboxd:
Yeah, the MCU is never really going to change. As charming as this can be, Waititi's direction, while sturdy, never rises above anonymous, really. I thought this was cute but nothing special. Something about it irks me. Like it's pre-packaged with all of these would-be catchphrases: "majestical", "I didn't choose the skux life, the skux life chose me", "SHIT. JUST. GOT. REAL.", etc. (I do quite like the last one, I'll admit.) However, most, if not all, of my complaints are cancelled out by Julian Dennison and Sam Neill's monstrously lovable performances. This is a very easy movie to watch, but not one I have a terrible amount of affection for. That, or maybe Trump just has me down.
