Spider-Man: Far From Home

The insidiousness of the MCU is that they’re depressing and soul-destroying en masse yet each individual entry is largely harmless and charming. It’s how most of us rolled out for this one, and why we’ll probably roll out for the next one. This one’s different! This one’s a heist movie! This one has a good villain! Not to stick my foot in my mouth but this one actually does have a decent villain in Mysterio. I respect that Marvel has blatant contempt for its audience and are finally being honest about it. They can’t find someone to visually communicate Spidey sense so they resort to calling it “Peter tingle”, a microcosm of the MCU if there ever was one. Cheap jokes in lieu of visual wit. Oh, but it looks good on you, Spongebob!
