Deeply envious of Adrienne Barbeau's whole situation in this movie: the house on the water, the radio station in the lighthouse, the Volkswagen Thing to tool around in. 

Did anyone else notice Jamie Lee Curtis's hair being 6 inches shorter in the coroner's office scene?

damn, this one had me all over the place. actually really enjoyed the over-the-top, over-meta setup for the most part. hated Neil Patrick Harris as a villain. REALLY hated the ending

What a strange and lovely movie. I feel like it's been a while since I saw something that played by its own rules as hard and as beautifully as this movie does. It luxuriates in quiet, still, and slow, but it's never uninteresting. The folk tale elements are sublime. There are a couple moments of genuine, shocking horror. And the naturalistic cinematography swings from feeling merely functional to being absolutely gorgeous. This one just really connected with me.
