JoseMaximiliano’s review published on Letterboxd:
The ever-growing mistery this movie had was uncanny and eldritch. I internally loved so much how this movie made me feel, you never know until you know but you actually never know.
There was something elegant yet wounded about Burning,
Was it the unheroic look to our protagonist Lee Jong-su? Was it the empathy and charisma Shin Hae-mi offered? Or was it the debonair and well groomed supposed antagonist we had on Ben?
The metaphors used throughout all the movie are yet to be fully understood by me but I’m sure I got a lot out of it, it’ll only get better with repeated viewings since there’s a lot to digest even though it might be so simple to draw a conclusion about it. The answer is there but how do you want to take it?
