I am just trying to watch more films ;)
give me a recommendation
For me Kaufman in this adaptation of Iain Raid's novel shows his usual personal and dramatic touch. From an existential horror story he makes a study of the characters subjected to the tedium of their own existence. Leading to the loss of some moments of tension and dread of the initial book. In Canvio we find a reflection on relationships, aging and the passage of time. In conclusion, a brilliant and daring work, which in certain aspects is somewhat frustrating.
For me, this film directed by Marie Heller is an homage to Fred Rogers, one of the most beloved figures in American television. Heller builds the film so that the international viewer becomes emotionally attached to the character. To this end, the rhythm of the film follows the famous melody that sounded at the beginning of Rogers' show: won't you be my neighbour. In conclusion, a brilliant and sensitive story that allows the viewer to reflect on his own life. With a Tom Hanks that perfectly captures the essence of Fred Rogers.
For me, above all, this film is a love letter to the cinema of the 1960s. In which we must highlight how the charisma of Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio is enhanced. We may or may not like the change of direction that makes an event that happened on Cielo Drive, but the truth is that this film lets us see the more tender side of this director. Perhaps not the most colorful of Tarantino but I still like it.
This film shows us through the eyes of a child a new point of view on the madness of Nazism. For me it's a moral fable suitable for all audiences in which there is a great selection of luxury supporting actors among which we can highlight Sam Rockwell, a spectacular Scarlett Johansson and the same director of the film Taika Waititi. It may not be perfect but it's worth seeing.
