  • Dune

    Beyond fear, destiny awaits.

Dune premiering at the Venice Film Festival led to what grew dangerously close to hyperbole judging by some of the reactions. It had been labelled as the new Star Wars or The Lord of the Rings which are very huge franchises to live up to, commonly not met by films that have come along with such praise beforehand. With visionary filmmaker Denis Villeneuve at the helm and one of the most impressive casts ever assembled, Dune

    Halloween Kills

    Evil dies tonight.

For a horror franchise to still be going strong in what is now its fifth decade is some kind of miracle, Halloween Kills marking the twelth instalment of the franchise but the third film of this timeline after 2018's Halloween retconned everything that came after the masterful original to bring this iconic horror franchise to modern audiences with plenty of ferocity.

    What does it feel like?

So dull and uninspired, possessing a terrible script and performances to put you to sleep, Voyagers is a dud, plain and simple.

  • Mass

No film has hit me with such a wave of emotion like Mass did in such a long, long time. The acting performances in this film need to be there amongst the contenders come awards season because that's where the power of the film comes from, and when I say the power don't you dare in underestimate it.

    Zack Snyder's Justice League

Back in 2017, I left a cinema so disappointed at what I had just seen in Justice League, the first major team-up event in the DCEU to rival the Avengers films of the MCU. Batman had already fought Superman, itself a bit of a disappointment, but this was them teaming up with other superheroes such as; Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg, so excitement levels were expectedly high. Zack Snyder had left the film's production so it was finished…

    Jurassic Park

I've lost count of how many times I've seen Jurassic Park but with each viewing, I find myself appreciating it more and more.

I first went to see it at the cinema when I was three and I will honestly say that is where my love for film began.

Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park is an expertly crafted summer blockbuster full of moments to both amaze and thrill. Through the combination of both practical effects and state-of-the-art CGI, Spielberg brings dinosaurs back to life in spectacular fashion.

This film, and not its sequels, is why I have high hopes for Jurassic World.
