“I love you”
”I’ve always loved you”
I’ve never been so tense and gripped in a theatre. I held my breath for the entirety of it’s runtime that absolutely flew by. There were moments I felt like I was going to burst. It had moments that made my eyes well up with tears. The scene where she shrieks and it cuts to Lee running in the field with fireworks is one of my favorite scenes of any movie ever. I cared for this family so much and the struggle they face is unimaginable. I was wholly invested and consistently shocked at the fervent intensity and pure high intensity suspense. Damn it John, you just directed the shit out of this. A future classic no doubt.
