Better second viewing
Very interesting. Could write a lot about this picture but I don't have the emotional energy. I feel like this movie was a personal love letter to the philosophy of suffering and The Problem of Evil, the whole cannon, from de Sade to Dostoevsky. It's very obvious and on the nose, but it is enjoyable as a shock/exploitation movie with some interesting themes if you fancy a good think. Very much a museum piece. Will be telling all my coprophilia friends about it right away.
A second viewing really put this film into context. This this is an incredibly personal story which resonates with me.
It remains accessible enough to be enjoyed on the off-chance but also invites those in a more pensive mood to dig into the themes, presenting the viewer with an armament of metaphors and allegories to enjoy in all personal situations.
