El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie

You're really lucky, you know that? You didn't have to wait your whole life to do something special.

I've long maintained that Jessie Pinkman was the most essential character and story arc to Breaking Bad's success. I still stand by this, and even though it's been years since I've seen an episode of Breaking Bad (and a hot minute since the last time I watched Better Call Saul) I got excited the instant I heard about this. "I know karate."
    "What belt are you?"
    " Yellow belt."

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

"It does no good to die kicking and screaming and lashing back at the inevitable. It corrupts the soul."
"I’m sorry I did not warn you better."

Read the script that I found online and lemme just say, oof.

Some horror movies are just looking to spook and startle ya, but this one genuinely wants to strangle you.

    Y'all been warned.

    ★★

now that I've actually watched it I can proudly say that it lived up to none of my expectations.

Mads "The Mustache" Mikkelson is intense as always, but beyond your run-of-the-mill, trashy, hitman-themed fun, very little is redeemable.

cool score sometimes, not a lot of the humor lands, tonally inconsistent, worst boss of any organization ever, and basically anything that was supposed to pack a punch (besides the hand-to-hand combat) felt limp or corny.
