Josh’s review published on Letterboxd:
The most accurately realistic depiction of Florida.
I haven’t seen Tangerine, but I can already tell that Sean Baker is a fantastic director.
It’s a cute, calm, and sometimes wild ride.
The final 10 minutes is destined to have you balling your eyes out.
(Also, the change in cinematography at the last minute is insane).
Brooklyn Prince was so goddamn adorable and she was really great in this film.
And if Three Billboards didn’t exist, I’d say Willem Dafoe should win Best Supporting Actor.
However, certain moments felt unnecessary and the pacing suffers in the 2nd act.
Much better than I was expecting.
