Letterboxd — Your life in film

this film had really sick vibes and i enjoyed it a lot but emma stoned narration ruined it for me

i’m coming out of a letterboxd blackout for this. this film is fucking beautiful. i’ve watched it twice and cried both times and i’m evil. it’s such an unbelievably charming story with crazy likeable characters in the most stunning setting and it’s GAY like really gay. hate to say that’s it’s message of tolerance made me cry. seriously please all watch this film for me i’m going to be talking about it a lot when i next see you- it’s up there with….Grease….2 and by that i mean by how much i love it they’re stylistically and basically virtually different

disappointing entry at number 2 here, the plot is mad weak but there are some really spectacular set pieces and cool little charming quirks. this film is a really interesting meditation on the nature of sentience tbh. also some bits of are literally high camp it’s amazing, the pharaoh is a queen and there are some genuinely funny moments

honest to god this is an amazing film with an actually incredibly beautiful concept that the it really leans into the magic of. also the cast and story is unbelievably good. ONE STAR AWARDED BC MICKEY ROONEY DIDNT DO YELLOWFACE

Lindsey Lohan is GIVING you lesbian representation in this. excellent use of the deadbeat dad trope. i am obsessed with the witchcraft aesthetic of the late nineties

i love how popular this film is bc i get to use my fact about how keira knightley went to my college. emma thompson is an MVP and carl is quite literally the hottest person on the planet. two stars awarded for successful deployment of joni mitchell

camp fantasy musical romp about child labour. Still trying to figure out what the dragon is a metaphor for. 1 star awarded bc Mickey Rooney gets through the film without doing yellowface. Nora is a gay male fantasy
