The fiery pit of locus explosion rivals many, but this could be the greatest scene documented on film. The Farmer finally realizes what Bill and Abby have orchestrated and he releases his power in the form of fire, surrounding his former family in a tirade of spiraling worlds. Everyone tries to run away; pandemonium ensues and the fear only escalates. Really with the fire lit perfectly under the Farmer's eyes and he continues his destruction for those who have fooled him makes this almost the greatest portrayal of Hell; like an extreme version of Adam and Eve and the apple. And when Billy and Abby reunite in the smog, she mutters only one thing: "He knows." And it's then, as the film concludes, that the two seem to know their fates. It's almost too poetic.
