In Anticipation of Gojira vs Kong
Part 7 — シン・ゴジラ
Finally made it to the last of the post Heisei Era Gojira films. And of course I saved the best for last in anticipation for Legendary’s version of Gojira vs Kong.
Will it live up to my love for this film? I have my doubts as this version of Gojira is one of the most badass and would surely kick Legendary’s version’s ass up and down the Pacific.
From his atomic breath to his four different evolutions this Gojira has it all, and even a teased fifth evolution. It wouldn’t be a Hideaki Anno film if it wasn’t left open to interpretation, that clever bastard.
While the CGi on the first two evolutions are a little wonky, I do believe this is done some what intentional as the third and especially the fourth evolutions look great. As to why they did it like this. 🤷♂️
And then you have the human aspect that is better than Godzilla and King of Monsters combined. I actually like the aspect purely from the government and scientist versus one family’s perspective trying to outlive the god incarnate.
To date this is still my favorite Gojira movie. And will remain my favorite until Anno returns to make a sequel, maybe after he’s done making a live action Kamen Rider he’ll return to Gojira.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🧡
