I haven't seen this film in SO long. And I'd only watched it one time prior to this and with the sequel coming out this week I figured it was a time! I didn't love this film as much a I loved my rewatch of Trading Places, and it's really not fair to compare it to Trading Places (with the exception of the cameos), but I do anyway. It is still a pretty good movie. I'll say it holds up quite a bit. I thought the jokes still land, and the plot is still plausible for the most part. Good movie.
Oof. This was a pretty bad film. The cover, title and studio (Shudder) of this film really intrigued me, but other than that I didn't really know much about it. Boy, I wish I had done some research. This movie is barely over 90 minutes but it felt SO MUCH LONGER. The lead is fine. She's okay. The concept is done and it took SO long to get to the point. Just a chore of a movie. Please avoid.
The NINTH film in the Pixar-athon!
I watched this film quite a bit as a kid. I really enjoyed it and I thought (still think) it's the cutest of the Pixar film. Just such a sweet character in Wall-E and his relationship with Eva. I enjoy the human being characters in the film as well. Good humor throughout. My wife didn't enjoy it nearly as well. Which makes me think it may not be a crazy popular or a favorite amongst the Pixar films. But I love it.
CUP OF DOOM, PICK #12
This title was generously sent over to me by the wonderful people over at Warner Bros. to check out and I was very excited to do so. I'd never watched this before but heard nothing but good things (my wife loves this movie). However, I was bit skeptical as I HATE Tim Burton. And I was right to be skeptical, this movie was not good. First, Beetlejuice isn't in 80% of this film, he doesn't show up until about the halfway point in the film. The film was unfunny and just over-the-top in its weirdness. Not for me, thanks.
