    The Divide

how can a single movie's animation look so good and so bad at the same time? the sand and the snow looked enchanting but the children's faces are going to give me nightmares

  • The French Dispatch

  • Murder on the Orient Express

    Murder on the Orient Express

I forgot just how packed with great actors this movie is. For some reason I really disliked it when I first watched it but this is actually pretty great, obviously the story is phenomenal so it would have been pretty hard for anyone to get a bad film out of that, but it also looks amazing! It must have been really fun to see this in theatres so I'm looking forward to see its sequel, especially since Death on the Nile is one of my favourite of Christie's stories.

nick and nora make a very sweet and fun couple & the dog is such a talented actor! i found the mystery a bit hard to follow as i didn't always get who every character was but i appreciated its fast pacing which manages to keep my attention.

  • What Lies Beneath

    What Lies Beneath

I'm torn... The tension is pretty effective when there is some and the story works its way to the resolution of the mystery in a way that you're surprised at every new piece of information you get, but there are also a lot of scenes that are just plain boring. Also, there were far too many jumpscares and the ending did get a bit ridiculous, but Michelle Pfeiffer is great, and it was a nice surprise to see Miranda Otto, too!

  • True Lies

    True Lies

True Lies is a bit longer than it should be. There is only so many big action sequences you can squeeze into a movie before it gets boring. Still, the premise is pretty fun and Jamie Lee Curtis is quite charming in this!

  • Scream

I've never been a fan of horror movies (which I guess means that I wouldn't be one of the main target in this story) so even though this is not the type of films I usually enjoy, I've got to admit this is pretty great - there is a lot of tension, it is surprising and I love how it pokes fun at the genre's tropes!
