I’m not gonna pretend like I got all the symbolism or what the hell it was trying to say in general but I found it so entertaining. More than anything, I was blown away with world the film captures, its so cool and unique. It almost feels like a life action anime or cartoon, done right.
I was afraid the film would go off the rails and turn completely absurd mid way through (As in not making sense for the sake of not making sense) but it never crosses that line.
ASMR cinema? — That’s one way to look at it.
This film has so much mood and atmosphere, and yes that’s mainly due to the use of sound. The sound of the double barrel shotgun going off in the distance, the jingle of the ice cubes and the cluster shuffle of a family trying to co-exist in the mist of a hot, sticky, wet summer.
