  • Mean Streets

    Mean Streets

Just realised I have now watched 100 films completing my personal challenge of trying to watch 100 from September to the end of the year. Super glad this is the film to seal that challenge completed as I've wanted to watch Martin Scorsese's earliest significant film Mean Streets for ages. Based in Little Italy it focuses mainly on Charlie who gives help to an insane character by the nickname of Johnny Boy. Johnny cannot pay his debts and gradually as…

  • Palm Springs

    Palm Springs

Very fun film! Really like the colours used in this and the location it is set in. Don't care much for the story but nevertheless not a bad hour and a half spent at all.

  • The Nice Guys

    The Nice Guys

Debating whether to give it a 5/5 or not and just decided to conclude on a 4.5. This was epic, a film that isn't hard to watch with great comedy and action with great acting as well. This is a whole new side of Gosling compared to his romance films in La La Land and Crazy Stupid Love. This is something I see myself getting on DVD as soon as I can and I think in the days coming, I…

  • Casablanca

After being on my watchlist for a while I've finally watched what's considered one of the best films of all time. The story is dazzling, the cinematography is superb and the acting is exceptional so what is there not to like about this! Even though this is great I doubt I will find myself re watching this anytime soon as it feels extremely long but that shouldn't contradict anything I've said above. Next classic film: Sunset Bv!

  • The Holiday

    Christmas Challenge- Film 8/31
I know it's not perfect but it's the fact I went into this with low expectations and came out loving this so much. This is the sort of film I see myself revisiting anytime of the year multiple times. The score is perfect and the final scene with Aretha Franklins 'You Send Me' might just be one of my favourite film music outros. Everybody's favourite characters seem to be Jude Law, Kate Winslet or Jack Black…

  • Bridget Jones's Diary

    Bridget Jones's Diary

    Christmas Challenge- Film 7/31
That fight scene was hilarious and the best bit of the film. A lot funnier than I expected it to be! Definitely will check out the other two films in the trilogy.

  • There Will Be Blood

    There Will Be Blood

Crazy film. Really well scripted, directed and acted!

  • Skyfall

This is as perfect as I remember it being! Javier Bardem is such an amazing villain and is the reason the film flourishes as well as it does. Daniel Craig pulls out another superb performance on par with his other best Bond performance 'Casino Royale'. The score with Adele's perfect song 'Skyfall' accompanies this so well and is my personal favourite Bond song (Sorry to any people who like other good ones). So overall those three brief points are why…

  • Goldfinger

My dad's favourite Bond film so we watched this and my favourite Bond film Skyfall last night to compare the two. I really like this a lot and Goldfinger might just be the best baddie in the whole Bond series. Still prefer Skyfall but I am glad I have finally seen this and I look forward to revisiting it sometime in the future!

  • Die Hard

    Die Hard

    Christmas Challenge- Film 6/31
Saw this last Christmas for the first time and I decided to re watch again this year because I wanted to see how much I remembered from the movie and if it held up to the first viewing. All I can say is that wow I didn't remember it being quite that good. The performance by Alan Rickman especially is extraordinary, and although there are a lot of cartoonish fight scenes, they are very well choregraphed…

  • About a Boy

    Christmas Challenge- Film 5/31
Heart-warming. Hugh Grant is a prick in the beginning though so minus half a star.

  • Bad Santa

    Bad Santa

    Christmas Challenge- Film 4/31
Can't believe I haven't seen this until now! Very funny throughout and pretty sad during some parts too. Pretty good film in my opinion for what it is.
