Gritty and bleak but subtly optimistic. What makes it work is the fact that it doesn't feel like a film or a documentary. You are there watching these two boys group up in tough areas, where few make it out. The footage feels raw and you really root for these two guys. I couldn't wait any longer to watch this and yes even though I haven't seen any other critically acclaimed documentaries, this does feel like it belongs close to the top.

That last 30 minutes are incredible. Edgar Wright deserves to be knighted already. The man is only 46 and we have so many more films to look forward to watching from him and looking at his current discography showcases why this guy is one of the best directors working right now.

    Criterion Challenge- Film 8/52
    “Romance”

Definition of a perfect family film. Comedy is sharp and fresh, really heartfelt and doesn’t take itself too seriously. Love this a lot

Christian Bale is one electric actor. This has grown on me so much from my first time watching it a few months ago!

Words can't describe how much I love this. This slaps too hard

    Criterion Challenge- Film 6/52
    Made in Spain”

Type of film I know I would never have watched if it wasn’t for a challenge. Been on my radar for a while as I’ve heard it’s an incredible moving picture but I have never committed to watching it as it doesn’t seem to be my type of flick. So it being part of the Criterion Collection is a win win for me as I can watch a film I’ve heard is fantastic…

Everything about this has aged well. The music is still sensational, so much quotable dialogue, a well written animation with incredible characters like Elastigirl, Frozone and of course Mr Incredible. Yet again, this brings back so many wonderful childhood memories of watching this with my family and I'm glad that I'm still able to watch this as a sixteen year old with my family without anything about the viewing experience being different.

Watched this three times in less than two/three months. I should be ashamed of myself.

My dad said that this is a beautiful film, but I didn’t quite expect it to be as good as it is. Debbie Reynolds voice is incredible!

  • La La Land

Love the music, locations, cinematography, colours used, directing choices, acting, writing, the list goes on. Damien Chazelle is a god, seriously can't wait until Babylon and hopefully I can see that in a cinema!
